Creating Learning Spaces Built for the Future.

Our school facilities have served generations of students, but many of the spaces and systems are now aging, outdated, inefficient or in need of repair. Some needs are as basic as replacing items past their life expectancy before they stop working. Others involve updating spaces that no longer function well for today’s students and teachers. And in some areas, creating new or redesigned spaces provides a better long-term solution.

The proposed bond brings these needs together in a comprehensive facilities plan — addressing necessary repairs, improving existing spaces and considering new construction where it can best serve students, the district, and the community long term.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Create a functional and safe learning environment. Bring to life the spaces our youngest learners call home.

The proposed bond project includes significant improvements to the Elementary School designed to address the condition, functionality, accessibility and educational use of the building.

Proposed improvements include:

  • New classrooms addressing classroom size and configuration, sound, lighting, electrical needs and functionality.
  • ADA-accessible improvements, including compliant doorways and restrooms.
  • Updated learning spaces designed to better support current instructional needs and student learning.
  • Increased natural light in learning spaces.
  • A new gymnasium to provide additional save space for physical education, activities and student programming.
  • Indoor and outdoor play areas that provide students with accessible, appropriate spaces for activity and recreation throughout the school year..
  • Building safety and functionality improvements to better meet the needs of students and staff.

Together, these improvements modernize the Elementary School while addressing accessibility, safety, instructional space and building functionality.

High School

HS Proposed Floor Plan

Modernize learning and career-focused spaces while replacing aging infrastructure to meet the educational needs of today and tomorrow.

The proposed bond project includes significant improvements to High School academic, career and technical education, activity, and support spaces.

  • Renovated Family & Consumer Sciences classrooms to support current curriculum, with updated equipment that meets industry standards, has proper ventilation and allows for applied learning opportunities.
  • Renovated Art classrooms to update instructional and work spaces for students with proper ventilation.
  • ADA-accessible restrooms and accessibility improvements to better serve all students, staff and visitors.

Together, these improvements address aging infastructure of the High School, modernize academic, career and technical education,  and support spaces to meet our educational programming needs

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Modernize and improve Middle School spaces to better support the academic, behavioral and developmental needs of today’s students.

The proposed bond project includes improvements to the Middle School designed to address existing space challenges, improve student movement and functionality, and provide additional spaces to meet the needs of students and staff.

Proposed improvements include:

  • Improvements to student restrooms to address functionality, meet ADA compliance for accessibility and student needs.
  • Improvements to locker and pod areas to reduce congestion and improve student movement during passing periods or emergency situations and throughout the school day.

  • Updated student and common spaces to provide more functional areas for learning, interaction and connection.
  • Building functionality and accessibility improvements to better meet the daily needs of students and staff.

Together, these improvements address current space and functionality challenges while creating a Middle School environment that better supports learning, student movement and individual student needs.

DISTRICT

Invest in district-wide facilities, infrastructure and activity spaces that support students, staff, school operations and the community.

Some proposed improvements extend beyond a single school building. The bond project includes district-wide investments designed to address facility and infrastructure needs and maintain the spaces and resources that support students, staff and school operations.

Proposed improvements include:

  • Completion of the Bus Barn project to include additional space for district vehicles and equipment beyond the bus fleet.
  • Exterior repairs to the SAMI to address facility maintenance and protect the long-term use of the building.
  • Technology upgrades within the SAMI to improve the functionality of the facility for school and community use.
  • Replacement of the football field turf to update the existing playing surface that is years beyond its life expectancy and utilized by school teams, student classes, and the community.
  • Track resurfacing to address the condition and continued use of the existing track used by school and community.
  • Baseball and softball field lighting to improve the functionality and address the age and condition of the district’s existing lights..

Together, these investments address district-wide facility, operational and activity needs that extend beyond the individual Elementary, Middle and High School projects.
